Consultation

Local consultation is the primary means of interacting with Sud-Ouest organizations and enterprises, while regional and national consultation represents an important source of the strategic information that powers RESO’s policies and actions, and a locus of collective activity geared to advancing and increasing the standing of community action and the social economy.

LOCAL CONSULTATION

RESO works actively at each of the four community issues tables in the Sud-Ouest to promote its mandate of community economic development. As an observer member of Action-Gardien de Pointe Saint-Charles, the Coalition de la Petite-Bourgogne, Concertation Émard-Saint-Paul and Solidarité Saint-Henri, RESO participates in the democratic proceedings of these issues tables and in various working committees linked to its mission and activities.

Members of the Community Development and Social Economy team lead or participate in other sectoral consultation activities:

REVITALIZATION AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT

In a context of local consultation, and with the promotion of job creation and workforce development in the Sud-Ouest in mind, the Community Development and Social Economy Service works in collaboration with community issues tables to articulate the community’s concerns regarding development and revitalization in the district.

The Community Development and Social Economy team is particularly implicated in initiatives to define development priorities for the major abandoned industrial zones of the Sud-Ouest, such as the Canada Post site in Griffintown, or the CN rail yard and shops in Pointe Saint-Charles.

REGIONAL AND NATIONAL CONSULTATION

By representing Montreal CEDCs  on the Comité d’économie sociale de Montréal, RESO contributes to the development, staying power and promotion of the social economy on a regional scale. RESO is a member of the Chantier de l’économie sociale and of the Collège communautaire de Montréal.
